I've just had a lovely morning, training in the sunshine at Harvey's lake. It was so quiet and peaceful up there - all you could hear was the wind blowing through the grasses and reeds - until I barked, and Sian shouted hooray!!
She hid the piggie three times for me altogether. The first time she sent me out to look for it, I thought it was going to be a short one - I must admit I cheated a bit - I was watching her for clues - sometimes she looks excited when I'm close, and she puts her hands behind her back - I know then she's got the ball in her hand ready! But every time I looked at her ready to bark, she walked away. I knew I hadn't smelled the pig really strongly, so it would have been wrong to bark, so I carried on looking - and sniffing - until I found it - what a stinker!!! I barked straight away then, and she was very pleased!
I managed to lose the ball though - I think I probably buried it in the mud I was so excited to get it! Oops!
We went back to get another ball, and I waited in the car until Sian had hidden it again. This time, I could smell it as soon as I got out of the car, and was desperate to go and find it and get the ball to play with, but she wouldn't let me until I had my jacket on. I went a bit beserk that time - running all over the place, but I found it soon enough and got the ball when I barked!
The third time, I found it easy enough, but I got a bit distracted, and I told Sian when I found the lead that she's got attached to the tube - she throws it out on that so she can get it further out - and doesn't get water over the top of her wellies! Anyway, I found the lead and barked, but she wouldn't give me the ball. She sent me on to find the stink itself, and when I got it, I barked at her and she gave me the ball - you'll never believe it - I lost that ball as well! We had to pack it in then because we had no more green balls left! It was a good day anyway, lovely sunny morning.
Anyone got any spare old tennis balls???
